Though every project is different, Chandler Consulting Services offers three types of editing packages that can then be further customized to meet your needs.
Light Edit
“Light edits” usually consist of proofreading for any last-minute errors and some light copyediting where required. It is intended for documents that have already undergone more substantive editing and are in the last stage before publication.
Full-suite Edit
The “full-suite edit” provides, as the name implies, a comprehensive look through your document to identify issues at all levels – grammatical mistakes, clarity, tone, readability, flow, and even structure of the argument. Our editors focus on engaging deeply with your text to identify its weaknesses and provide options for making your text and argument as strong and convincing as possible.
This is our most popular package.
Developmental/Structural Edit
With the developmental editing package, our editors engage with you earlier in the writing process to help you develop your argument and enhance its cogency. A full-suite edit is included in this package as the document takes shape.
This package is intended for documents that are not in publishable form or authors who are struggling to convincingly make their argument.
Please note that your text might require more work than you think; if you are interested in only a proofread but our editors identify issues with clarity requiring a more intensive line edit, we will reach out to you and discuss how best to proceed. This is normally identified during the sample edit, which we provide free of charge to customers to make sure we are the right fit for your project.
